Laser Protection - Medical & Military



QCLis a TACOM qualified supplier of laser filters to MIL-DTL-62422C(AT).
Having produced over 30,000 two line filters in the last 10 years for defence contractors in both North America and Europe.



QCL has employed its rugate coating design technology to develop narrow band notch filters for both the medical and defence markets.  This filter technology benefits the end user with:


  • Higher photopic transmission.
  • Width of notch and OD can be controlled with greater accuracy.
  • Wavelength shift of the notch with viewing angle is reduced.
  • Filters can be colour corrected to appear more neutral to the eye.
  • Higher batch to batch consistency.
  • Higher production yields meaning more consistent delivery performance.
 
Combiners & HMD

QCLis proud to have been chosen as the strategic supplier on a large number of high profile development & production programmes for combiners, single and dual plate for both military and commercial use.  Utilising our propriety copating techniques QCL have the ability to seamlessly coat the combiner plates with a colour selective notch and an antireflection coating simultaneously.

By using QCL's uniques approach:
  • Only the CRT or laser wavelengths are reflected.
  • Outside world transmission is high with minimal colouration.
  • The display brightness is insensitive to head movement.
  • Coatings are extremely robust, temperature and environmentally stable.
  • 50% weight reduction compared to an equivalent holographic combiner.

                                                  
 
NVG Compatability Filters

QCLcoat a range of NVG compatable filters for cockpit instrumentation, indicators, and illuminated displays, working with our customers to define their specific needs.

Whether it is a sharp edge filter or fast moving (with angle) dichroic filter for stray light applications, QCL has the solution.

QCL can also supply sunlight readable filters for illuminated displays.
